My hard drive crashed today 11/25/08So today my Hard drive crashed and I lost everything. I had over 13,000 songs, I had all of my digital art, as well as my Traditional art sketches in steps. I lost pictures, and a handful of irreplaceable stuff that I cannot retrieve.
I tried everything I could do to restore my stuff, but failed in the end. I managed to save one art .ai file that I recently sent to myself via email which would be my 57 Cruiser project that I've spent roughly 40 hours upon.
A little note to take for personal reassurance be sure to back your stuff up on DVD/CD's, and if possible an external hard drive. I wouldn't want this to happen to anyone else.
So, I just got windows up and running, fresh clean install. Downloading music, crying, and wishing I had all my art back + pictures of friends, family, trips, parties, etc.
Bummed out
I'm sorry to hear about your HDD, I know all to well the scare of that, and worry about losing stuff. I cried hard when I even THOUGHT I'd lost all my stuff.
It was a scare enough to make me buy an external drive and back all my stuff up regularly.
